Hammer
Hammer is a metallic ball employed for throwing in the athletic event 'hammer throw'. The hammer is attached to a long handle (straight or curved) through a spring steel wire whose maximum length can be up to 4ft. Like other throwing sporting events, one who throws the hammer to the farthest distance wins the event. The weight of the hammer is different for men and women, and is 16 lb and 8.82 lb respectively. Hammer shells are made rust proof and are manufactured from metals like stainless steel, alloy steel, brass and cast iron. The two most pivotal points for the long hammer throw are speed of the ball and angle of release of the ball.
